Poster topics include, but are not limited to, the following areas: wind, solar, fuel cells, nuclear power, clean coal technology, growing and sustaining energy businesses, transportation fuels, biomass/biofuels, greening Ohio’s economy, energy policy, energy efficiency, electricity distribution and transmission, energy storage, carbon capture and control, shale energy, innovative energy curricular offerings, and technical training in energy fields.

Time and Location

• The Energy Research Poster Session and judging will take place on Monday, April 2 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
in the Blackwell Ballroom
• Poster set up will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 2 and must be completed by 4:30 p.m.
• Posters presenters have the option to display their poster on Tuesday, April 3 from 7:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Lobby
of the Pfahl Executive Conference Center.

Abstract Submission

Participants must submit a poster abstract online at www.uceao.org/conference/poster_session no later than Friday, March 2. Only 60 abstracts will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Abstracts should:

1. Be a maximum of fifty words in length;
2. Include a list of authors and his/her title (faculty, graduate student, undergraduate student);
3. Include the intended poster presenter(s) and his/her title (faculty, graduate student, undergraduate student);
4: Include the name of the faculty advisor(s), if appropriate;
5. Include the affiliation (company or department and institution).

Poster Format

• Posters can be in portrait or landscape format
• Maximum dimensions of 48” (longest dimension) x 36” (shortest dimension)
• Oversized posters will not be displayed
• The poster presentation boards are made of cork; push pins will be provided

Poster Presenters

Poster presenters must attend the Energy Research Poster Session. Presenters are not expected to make an oral presentation, yet they should be prepared to discuss their research informally and respond to questions. All poster presenters must register for the conference. The student registration fee is $55.

Awards

Poster awards will be presented at the Annual Conference luncheon on Tuesday, April 3 in the areas of innovation, technical/scientific merit, visual presentation, and explanation/discussion.
