Who Can Participate?

Key eligibility requirements include:

  1. Teams must be comprised of at least 50% students enrolled in accredited U.S. universities or colleges
  2. Businesses cannot have generated revenue or raised outside capital prior to the current academic year
  3. Technologies must derive from universities or national labs; teams are not required to have full IP ownership upon entry to the competition, but they must disclose the status of all IP
  4. Prior Student Challenge finalists are not eligible to participate
Cross-disciplinary teams are highly encouraged. Students should seek team members and support from throughout their institution, including business and entrepreneurial centers and technology transfer offices, as they navigate the application process and prepare for the Ohio Competition.

2012 Challenge Winners

2012 Midwest Regional Competition and National Competition Winner:
