And the winner is…

Amplified Wind Solutions

Nicole Zmij and Jon Stehura of Amplified Wind Solutions from Cleveland State University were awarded the 2013 Ohio Clean Energy Challenge $10,000 state prize at the event in Columbus.

Amplified Wind Solutions has a Wind Amplification System that can produce 4 to 6 times more electricity than a typical wind turbine. For the telecommunications industry, this system can be placed on top of cell phone towers in remote and urban locations, and be used to power the equipment on site.

What’s next for Amplified Wind Solutions? The team will present their Wind Amplification System in Chicago on April 4, 2013, where they will compete for the $100,000 grand prize at the Midwest regional competition hosted by the Clean Energy Trust.
