Richard Schorr – General Manager, MetaMateria Partners Inc. |
MetaMateria Partners is an innovative developer and manufacturer of nano-enabled materials and ceramic manufacturing methods for components with enhanced performance or functionality. They focus on the practical application of nanomaterials for components, devices and engineered systems. MetaMateria leverages the extraordinary properties of nanomaterials to improve the performance and lower the cost of components and devices for a wide range of industries, including energy storage (batteries, capacitors); generation (fuel cells, photovoltaic, thermoelectrics) and transmission (high temperature superconductors); filtration (water treatment, biological and gas separation); lighting (solid state, displays) and improvement inherent with nanomaterials for mechanical, optical and other properties. |

Jeff McDaniel – Director of Business Development, Velocys Inc. |
Velocys is developing processing systems that provide energy and chemical companies with substantial cost savings, improved product yields, and greater energy efficiencies. Velocys chemical processors are characterized by parallel arrays of microchannels; processes are intensified by decreasing transfer resistances between process fluids and channel walls. Systems in development, include Fischer-Tropsch synthesis for biomass-to-liquids (BTL) and gas-to-liquids (GTL), including compact units for offshore facilities, low cost hydrogen production using steam methane reforming, high intensity oxidation and partial oxidation reactors that improve the selectivity and yield of the ethylene production process and high performance emulsification processes. |
